Helix, Enhancer, cut 5 ½” tubing

Operations executed as per plan. All equipment was prepared when sailing to destination and tool was ready for operation in minutes when at location. Compared to alternative, this solution saved end user for high figured dollars and operation was done with no people in red-zone and with high speed.

Challenge

Kingfisher, tubing recovery from vessel.Tubing was cut in 2018, then left because of challenge to release hanger. OWTHRT (Open Water Tubing Hanger Recovery tool) To be used for release and pulling.

Solution

NorOilTools was asked to fit the a 10” tool for cutting 5 ½” Tubing on the vessel. 10” tool and trolly for ease operation was mobilized. All equipment was set up and tested in workshop equal to planned set up.

Result

Minimal rig up/down both in terms of time and equipment. All tubulars cut remotely operated in less than 1 minute per cut. Great time and cost savings.
